This is my Aunt Belle. She came up from Texas to see me. She likes to chase me. She chases the bunnies in her yard, but I think they can run faster than me. She likes to travel and knows lots of tricks! She can get her toys by name, roll over, play dead (while the cat plays with her), dance, and about 20 others! They try to make me do tricks. I can dance (twirl around on my hind legs), walk, and ring my bell. I love to ring!

I'm watching Kitty get get her nails trimmed. It is wonderful to watch her be tortured in this way. I am so superior. I have my rear perched up high to exhibit this feeling.

... Little did I know they were coming for me next! I screamed, "You got the wrong guy! You got the wrong guy! You want Kitty!"

What more can I say?

Spring?

My staff went to the park last weekend. They brought me this picture. I can see blue sky in the picture. This is a big event here in the Pacific Northwest. They said that they could feel the sun warming their skin - a feeling they hadn't experienced in months. They were ecstatic! They said that they saw the sun - not brightly, but through a haze. The subdued sun made for good pictures. It has been raining ever since. Will it ever shine again?
They had some company on their walk.

The Hall Monitors

"You lookin' to pass by here?"

Behind me is "the office." The office is full of rubbery twigs called "wires" that are simply a delight to chew on! My staff doesn't seem to appreciate this so we have this game where I sneak in there any chance I get. If I hear them coming I tear out of there; if they make it to the doorway I run at them at full speed, jump in the air and fly right by them. Then they close the door. If Kitty is in her chair, they push it out into the hallway. She thinks that they are putting her here to keep an eye on everything and make sure that no one gets past without a swat.

You can see that Kitty likes to scratch her chair. Kitty can be so very destructive at times.

"You still awake up there?"

Here's me eating my Timothy hay (actually this is Kitty's, but I consider it mine). Timothy is the best hay for bunnies. I have to eat as much as I can to stay healthy. It helps that my upper lip is split right up the middle - it's like I have three lips... so I can talk, run, jump, and still eat five pieces of hay at a time.

I'm SO glad it's Friday!

It's been a long day. But even while sleeping I must keep listening...

Relaxing under my chair...
This is my favorite chair to hang out under. I picked it because it's close to Kitty's things. I have to keep a close eye on her things and eat her hay because her hay always tastes better than mine. Yes, Kitty likes hay too! She learned that from me. She especially likes it in the winter, but she'll often sneak into my part of the living room and eat it right from my plate!

This furniture is great for bunnies because it doesn't have any sharp corners. I just don't like sharp corners and it's so tempting to try to smooth them out with my teeth. And I don't like furniture too close together where I have to squeeze through; then I have to try to enlarge the openings. I don't chew furniture much anymore because I might get squirted with water. Yikes! About the only furniture left with sharp corners that I just can't resist are the slats under the beds. Soon I will have them worn completely away. But furniture with rounded edges is just perfect for house bunnies.

This is my best friend Teri petting me. She is very skilled at petting bunnies and I highly recommend her. That's because she's an acupuncturist - that's where they train you to pet bunnies I think. Here she is using a pressure point to put me in my extreme relaxation mode. Teri wants to get a bunny, but her husband is afraid he'll look like a sissy. They have a niece that likes to pet bunnies (I hope I never meet her). I hope Teri will come over and pet me again soon.

Kim saw my post and explained to me that female bunnies that don't breed will almost always get uterine cancer unless they are spayed, and that they weren't torturing me. I stared at her blankly and she said, "bunnies are meant to breed or be eaten." Oh. That's why I can run so fast! And I can jump in the air and instantly change directions in mid air! You should see me - I'm as fast as lightning. Sometimes they call me White Lightning.

This is me the first night in my new home. Most of the ticks had been removed, but my lips were still purple from them. It felt so good to be held then. Now... not so much.
It feels so good to be safe.

Next thing we knew there was a big cage in the living room with a CAT in it! As second in command it was my duty to constantly patrol the area, getting under the covers and as close as possible to the cage. I was to secretly bite the cat if it got too close to the side, while being very careful to hide any cat hair that might fall outside the cage. Most importantly, I must wash my face so that I don't go running around with black hair sticking out of my mouth; the head of operations severely reprimands me for such sloppiness. I would spend time giving it the evil eye, and telling it how we were going to continue to torture it. It appeared to have been through another level of torture than I had; I had my stomach cut and items removed - they called it "spayed," but apparently the cat had her stomach and her ear spayed. But the stupid cat thinks she's special and goes around wearing this collar like she's some kind of queen!
Night and day I must watch and watch. My eyes are weary, yet I will not let them close.

I'd like to tell you about Bubba. She found me in the park and took me in. We hung out together and I taught her to eat veges. She had to try a few times to choke down parsley, but was determined to eat it after seeing me eat it. We liked to eat carrots together.
I turns out that hay and veges are good for most critters! We all know that cats and dogs like grass during the summer - hay in the winter is a treat! Her favorite veg was bok choy. And it turned out that it was very good for her! Her stomach felt much better if she ate a stalk a day! Sometimes she ate it like a bone and sometimes it was broken up in her food bowl. The enzymes really helped her digestion. If you know a dog with digestion problems, give 'em some bok choy.

Since I shared my veges with her, she'd share her kibble with me. Kibble really isn't the best thing for bunnies so I had to act fast to get away with it.

You already saw us napping together. Life was just fine. Then this cat started looking in the window. I tried to scare it away, but it kept coming around. It was a black cat and it was a little scary to see those eyes looking in the window at night. I started to hear more and more talk about this cat. Oh brother, didn't their mother tell them to leave wild things outside?? Here we go again. Think, Bubba, think! What are we going to do? I tell you, that cat is going to ruin everything!
